Craig Willis Obituary

Mr. Craig Tyrone Willis, 51, of McKenzie, Tennessee passed away Thursday June 20, 2019 at Jackson Madison General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30PM Sunday June 23, 2019 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Minister Edgar Willis officiating.

Craig was born on Monday February 12, 1968 to Edgar Lee Willis and Virginia Lee King. Craig confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Third Avenue Baptist Church, now Huntingdon Christian Fellowship Church. Craig graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1986. He was a former supervisor at UGN in Jackson, TN. Craig was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan and he loved basketball. His son Trevor Jamar Willis was the center of his world. Craig was known for his outgoing personality, big smile and his care and concern for others. He truly loved his family and friends. Despite his physical limitations Craig always kept a positive attitude and had encouraging words for others.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Willie and Perlie Willis. His maternal grandparents Howard King and Mildred Fountain, a sister Victoria Willis, two uncles Hulon Willis and Garvin King and one aunt Broxie Nell Willis.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted mother Virginia King (Calvin), his father Edgar Lee Willis, a loving son Trevor Jamar Willis, three loving brothers Edgar Willis (Kim), Caponie Foulks and Sanitini Foulks and a loving sister Cristal Hill. One uncle J.G. Willis (Marie) and three aunts Annitta Collins, Versie Alfredia Chappell and Lucille Vaughn. Devoted and loving friends Mike Hughes, Desmond Taylor, Marcia Adams, Annie Palmer, his ex-wife Sheila Willis and his mentor/friend Thomas Foulks. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
