Iona Chism

Mrs. Iona Chism, 87 of Trezevant, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Brother Darrell Pollock officiating.  Burial to follow in the New Independence Cemetery.

Mrs. Chism was born on March 14, 1930 in Pemiscot, Missouri to the late Louis and Thelma Meatte Douglas. She worked for several nursing homes and was later on a seamstress for Henry I. Siegel.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: husband, William Arthur Chism; son, Sonny Chism; grandson, Elijah Riddle; and brothers, Albert and William Douglas.

She is survived by: 5 daughters, Sue Bullington of Huntingdon, TN, Loretta Johnson of Tonkawa, OK, Mandy Hills of Olatha, KS, Linda Newton of Trezevant, TN, and Valerie Riddle of Cedar Grove, TN; 3 sons, Willard and Matt Chism of Chanute, KS and Donald Chism of Huntingdon, TN;  33 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 37 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 4-8PM and then on Tuesday, January 16th from 11AM until time of services.
