Patricia Chaney Obituary

Mrs. Patricia Rose Chaney, 82 of Leach TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Known to most as Pat, she was born in Chicago IL on March 17, 1935 to the late Mr. Clemente Peter Ortiz and Mrs. Pauline Angela (Chavez) Ortiz.

Mrs. Chaney is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mr. Richard Chaney. Married July 15th 1981 Richard and Pat had: 1 son, Richie Chaney of Leach TN; 4 grandchildren Angel Chaney, Hunter Chaney, Allison Chaney all of Huntingdon and Aubrey Chaney of Leach; and 1 great-grandson, Brayden Blackwell of Huntingdon.

Pat worked many jobs at times, but the one most will remember is the time she enjoyed working as a seamstress at HIS, formally located in Bruceton. Pat will be remembered most by her flowers (roses) in the yard, her ability to love unconditionally to any one regardless of relation or age, and her love for sports-her favorite teams remained the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.

Being blessed with a large family, Pat is survived by: her sisters Irene Chavez, Pauline (Joe) Ramirez, Dolores Ortiz, and Mary Castro; Step -Son Ricky Clabough Sisters-in-law, Opal Cary, Sue Norman, Gene Greer; brother-in-law, Bill Chaney; and a large group of special nieces and nephews who were all loved by her as if they were her own. 

Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister, Teresa Lopez; 2 brothers, Salvador Ortiz and Peter Clemente; and three bothers-in-law, Elwood Norman, Edward Greer, and Dona Chaney.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 18th at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home at 1:00PM with burial to follow in the Chaney-Greer Cemetery Located in Leach, TN.

The family will greet friends from 5-9PM on Saturday March 17th in the Heritage Room of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home and then on Sunday from 10AM until time of services.

Mrs. Pat will be carried to final resting place by: her son, Richie Chaney; Grandson, Hunter Chaney; Nephews, George Norman, Kenneth (Chipper) Ortiz, and Peter Ramirez; and Great Nephew, Noel Ortiz.
