Mr. Richard Amidon, 87, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday September 27, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Monday September 30, 2019 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Parkers Crossroads. Brother Bryan Oakes and Brother Clint Ezell officiating.
Mr. Amidon was born May 27, 1932 to the late Richard Amidon and Helen Smith Amidon. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 of Huntingdon. He dedicated his life to the service of his country. He was a proud supporter of the Wounded Warriors project. He served in the Army and Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He served as a Boy Scout Leader and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to travel and go to flea markets.
Mr. Amidon is survived by his wife Elaine Amidon of Huntingdon, Tennessee; one daughter Edith Amidon of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one son Greg Amidon of Blytheville, Arkansas; one sister Betty Machell of Vermont; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Monday from 10:00AM until time of services.
