Abdullah Maurice Willis

Mr. Abdullah Maurice Willis, 56, of Kuwait passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00PM Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00AM until time of services at 1:00PM.

Mr. Abdullah Maurice Willis was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on April 21, 1965 to the late Georgia Ashcraft-Townes and Prince Albert Willis. Mr. Willis graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1983. After high school, he joined the United States Army, where he served in the military for 15 years where he retired as a Staff Sergeant. After retirement, he enrolled in Tennessee State University with a degree in teaching. After teaching, he decided to get into law enforcement. After his career in law enforcement, he then moved to Kuwait, where he met his wife, Kareema Mabarak-Willis. Maurice enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and he had a special passion for genealogical ancestral roots.

Mr. Abdullah Maurice Willis leaved behind his wife, Kareema Saleem Mabarak-Willis; his children: Calvon Willis, Triston Willis, Travon Willis, Tereva Williams, and Jamal Willis; his brothers and sisters: Brendella Merriweather, Elton Merriweather, Gregory Merriweather, Princie Mae Gray, Princetine (Michael) Barnhill, Zenell (Willie C) Johnson, Tracey Willis, Dena Willis, Mauzy Willis, and Vidale Cozart; his grandchildren: Layten Willis, Bransen Willis, London Willis, JaNie Shipman, and Charlee Willis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
