Ms. April McClerkin, 44, of McKenzie, Tennessee passed away Friday at AHC McKenzie.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00PM Friday April 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St Paul Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home from 10:00AM until time of services at 12:00PM.
April McClerkin was born in Carroll County on August 6 th , 1979, to Steve Porter and
Connie McClerkin.
April accepted Christ into her life when she was a young teenaged woman, she went on
to graduate from McKenzie High School in 1998. Although she was short in stature,
April had the smile and personality of a giant. Throughout her life, she touched the
hearts of many with her kindness and sense of humor.
Her legacy is one of resilience and strength, a testament to the power of the human
spirit to overcome even the greatest of obstacles. Though she may no longer be with us
in body, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know
her.
April leaves to cherish her memory a son Marcus Fentress, Jr. (Junior), her devoted
parents Connie (Bob) McClerkin & Steve (Tomiko) Porter, Brother; Stephen (LaShanda)
McClerkin, & Sister; Jayne Porter. She also leaves a host of family, friends, and a
special caretaker LuWanna Williamson. She was also proceeded in death by her
paternal and maternal grandparents, and brother Antonio Foster.
As we say goodbye to April’s physical presence, let us hold onto the memories of her
laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering strength. She may have battled a long-term
illness, but her spirit remained unbroken, and will forever guide us with its light.
