Della Louise (Layhew) Butler

Mrs. Della Louise Butler, 80, passed away Saturday on February 1, 2025 at her home where she resided for over 32 years in Hollow Rock, Tennessee. 

Family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home in Huntingdon, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 4, from 4 PM until 6 PM.

She was born on September 19, 1944, in New Liberty, Illinois, to the late Herbert and Minnie Layhew. She was the devoted wife of Louis Butler, with whom she shared a loving marriage since July 31, 1962.

Della was a gracious soul with a deep passion for music. She often sang on stage alongside her husband, Lou, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by family and friends. Della and Lou raised their three sons in Bourbonnais, Illinois, and music was an important part of their lives.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Louis, her brother Charlie (wife Marge), and her three sons, Darell Butler, Louis (wife Jennifer) Butler, and Craig Butler. Della was a proud grandmother and Mamaw to ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.

Della Louise Butler will be remembered for her love of music, her strong family bonds, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
