Mrs. Dorothy Ann Sanders, 73, formerly of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday February 15, 2019 in Montrose, CO after a brave battle with Alzheimers.
She will be remembered as one of the kindest, dearest and loving ladies with a laugh, never to be forgotten. It was often said that she never met a stranger.
Family and friends at 2:00PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with burial to follow.
Mrs. Sanders was born February 24, 1945 in Red Bay, Alabama to the late Jessie James Sprouse and Ocie Eaton Sprouse. She was preceded in death by a son Samuel Crockett Sanders Jr.; daughter Sherry Jane Sanders; ten siblings JR Sprouse, Jerry Sprouse, J. C. Sprouse, Larry Sprouse, Bill Sprouse, Donnie Sprouse, Ronnie Sprouse, Ruby Brown, Ruth Burns and Peggy Moody.
She is survived by her husband Samuel Sanders; two daughters Samantha (Joe) Gruszkowski of Crown Point, Indiana and Sandra Sanders of Germantown, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Brittany Gruszkowski of Demotte, Indiana; Melissa Smolin of Knoxville, Tennessee and two grandsons, Joey Gruszkowski of Crown Point, Indiana and Matthew Smolin of Telluride, Colorado; two brothers Johnny Mac of Florida and Bobby Joe of Missouri.
