Earlene Burleson Matthews

Mrs. Earlene Burleson Matthews, 79, of Camden, TN, passed away Thursday, December 08, 2022, at Camden General Hospital.

Memorial service will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home, with Brother Wesley Grooms officiating. A private interment will follow in Barren Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM.

She was born October 7, 1943, in Verona, Mississippi, to the late Wilburn “W.A” Burleson and to the late Elmira Dykes Burleson.

Earlene married on July 7, 1972 to Gene Matthews, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2001.

She is survived by her four sons, Brad (Misty) Matthews of Manchester, TN, Brian (Crystal) Matthews of Camden, TN; Jerry Rodgers, and Phillip Rodgers; one daughter, Billie Jean Davis of MS; one special niece, Cindy Carroll of Paris, TN; three step sons, Steve Matthews of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry Matthews of Paris, TN , and Ronnie Matthews of Oklahoma City, OK; five sisters; two brothers; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Tim Rodgers; and two brothers.
