Mrs. Fry was born July 28, 1932, in Cedar Grove, to the late Clarence Samuel Coffman and to the late Rosie Edith Coffman.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frankie Travis Fry.
Mrs. Edith married Frank and moved to Memphis, TN, where she worked at Sears for over 15 years. Family was very important to them, and they and their kids spent lots of time visiting their parents, spending time with friends and family, and of course summer vacations with the Hammers crew! Frank’s job in the textile industry moved them to Lumberton, NC for 4 years where they went back to school to receive her high school diploma. Then off to Atlanta GA, they went where she became successful real estate agent. Again work lead them to Marion, SC in 1981. She then became a successful sales person for Fay Swafford handbags and luggage, then for Christmas Around The World. She excelled at both of these home based businesses and won awards and trips galore. After a year long illness, she lost her “Soulmate” in 2006 and her daughter moved her to Spartanburg to be close to them until her recent passing with dementia. She lived with them for the past 2 years while she was declining. She had a zest for life and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She was always active in church and tried to live a Christian life by putting God first in everything she did.
She is survived by her son, Terry Alan (Ann Marie) Fry of Eads, TN; one daughter Vicki Lynn (Tim) Odell of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Terry Alan (Dendra) Fry, Jr., of Memphis, TN; Lisa Marie Rafferty of Memphis, TN, Megan Clare (Conner) Davis of Spartanburg, SC, and Erin Kaylie Odell of Spartanburg, SC; and four great grandchildren, Justin Patrick Perkins, Colin Michael Rafferty, Emily Ann Rafferty, and Anna Grace Adamson, all of Memphis, TN.
