James Elma Holmes

Mr. James Elma Holmes, 87 of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at West Tennessee Transitional Care.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Brother Robert Barger and Brother James Myers officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.

Mr. Holmes was born January 29, 1937 to the late Lallie Ellen Cannon and Charlie Oscar Holmes. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Mary Jo Holmes as well as brothers: Arthur Mitchell Holmes, Charles Cannon Holmes and Aaron Glover Holmes.

Mr. Holmes was a member of Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired as manager at Wolf Creek Oil. He and his wife were Charter Members of Carroll County Good Sam Camping Club.

He is survived by two daughters Vicki Myers of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Phyllis (Bob) Todd of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren James (Michelle) Myers, Emily Myers and Eric (Brooke) Todd; great-grandchildren Noah Myers, Cole Myers, Shea Myers, Natalie Todd and Olivia Todd.
