Jimmie Hale Jr.

Mr. Jimmie Hale Jr., 93, of Parker’s Crossroads, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Thursday August 8, 2019.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Sunday August 11, 2019 at Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parker’s Crossroads Cemetery. Brother Randall Woods,  Brother Phillip Halter and Brother Jeff Simmons officiating.

Mr. Hale was born May 26, 1926 in Yuma, Tennessee to the late James Homer Hale of Carden Bottom, Yell County Arkansas, a blacksmith and farmer, and Bertha Lee McArthur of Westport, Carroll County, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Joy Hale who passed away February 25, 2015; three brothers Arvie (Anita), Ozlee (Audrey), Freamon (Billie) and one sister Artie Todd (Vester).

Mr. Hale was drafted at 18, left home in senior year of high school and served in US Army WWII European Theater in various countries and was a T4 Sergeant with 341^st Quartermaster Depot  Company; attended several colleges for courses and training: West TN Business College, Jackson, Tennessee, Bethel College, McKenzie, Tennessee, Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee, State Technical Institute, Memphis, Tennessee; Worked as an Electrician at Chrysler Corp. in Dayton, Ohio, Teller and Bookkeeper at Farmers Bank in Parsons, Tennessee, retired from Tennessee Valley Authority as an Administrative Services Supervisor with 37 years of company service for New Johnsonville, Allen and Cumberland City Fossil Plants.

 He was raised as a devoted Old Time Missionary Baptist and remained an active member his entire life becoming an ordained minister in his later years;  enjoyed working outdoors farming and gardening. He was also an avid deer hunter and enjoying hunting for relics and collecting antiques; He never met a stranger and very much enjoyed socializing with his family, friends and new acquaintances.

Mr. Hale is survived by his children Roy Steven Hale (Nancy) of Hernando, Mississippi, Joseph Martin Hale (Regina) of Parker’s Crossroads, Tennessee and Rebecca Jean Williams of Trezevant, Tennessee; grandchildren Jesse Williams, Steven Williams, Callie Hale, Carrie Hull and Jacob Plunk and his sister-in-law Anita Hale of McKenzie, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Sunday from 11:00AM until 1:30PM.
