Lorraine May Hansen passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022 in Puryear, TN at the age of 63. Lorraine was born on September 10, 1958 in Midland, Michigan to Joseph and Alice Hansen. She was one of ten children. Coming from a very large family, Lorraine learned early on the value and importance of her family. Hard work and responsibilities became a daily part of her childhood. Coming from these humble beginnings forged a closeness with her siblings that made herthe ideal candidate as an adult to plan family reunions.
As Lorraine was raising her own children, she also ran a daycare out of her home. It was not uncommon to see her with five or more children at the grocery store. Each child having a spot to hold on to on the outside of the grocery cart. People were impressed at how well behaved the children were and how easy Lorraine made it look. This is not surprising, as she treated every child she cared for with the same love and attention she gave her own children. These children, now grown, would tell you of the positive, loving impact she has had on their lives.
Lorraine also ran a very successful baking business from her home. She was known for making the best cakes and cookies. But what made this time in her life so special is the generosity she showed to the family and friends she baked for. It was not uncommon for her to give these baked goods to them, asking for nothing in return. She once was hired to make baked goods to be sent to our military troops overseas, not surprisingly, she donated them as well.
Lorraine had a passion for traveling. Especially within the last five years, Lorraine traveled throughout the United States, not only visiting, but helping family and friends. While making sure she never missed events in her children, or grandchildren's lives.
Although Lorraine could never overcome her struggles with alcohol, she found comfort knowing that she will live on in the hearts of her daughters. We celebrate her life and are grateful that she is now at peace.
Lorraine is survived by her three daughters, who will forever miss her; Jennifer (Scott) Eaglen, of Waxahachie, TX, Crystal Jones of San Diego, CA, and Senior Master Sergeant USAF Cassie (Rashad) Holley of Minot, ND. Lorraine has four grandchildren that she adored; Aspen (Tanner) Osmer, Brendan Eaglen, Zuri and Amora Holley. Along with her siblings; Larry Hansen, of Henry NE, Marie Wallaker of Klamath Falls, OR, Theresa Wing of Paris, TN, Kathy Hansen of Klamath Falls, OR, and Kelly Hansen of San Marcos, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine has joined her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents; Joseph and Alice Hansen, and brothers; Mike Hansen, Joe Hansen, David Hansen, and Donnie Hansen.
Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life services for Lorraine will be held in her hometown of Midland, Michigan on Monday July 25, 2022 at 1 P.M. A buffet lunch will follow.
