Miss Marcia Adams, 52 of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, October 09, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday, October 14th, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 11:00 am until time of service.
On Wednesday, May 6, 1970, Francis Adams gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Marcia Lynn Adams. Marcia grew up in Huntingdon, TN and attended Huntingdon High School where she graduated in 1989. She attended Austin Peay University.
Marcia accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Clark Street Missionary Baptist Church where she as an active member before relocating to Nashville, TN. There, she became a member of the Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Antioch, TN where she continued actively working in the church. While in Nashville, Marcia met many people who became lifelong friends and who were very dear to her. In later years, she returned to Huntingdon, TN due to declining health. She resumed her work for the Lord at her home church where she served in various roles. She served as the Missionary President, Kitchen Committee, and her current role as president of the Usher Board. Marcia enjoyed working in the church and she worked faithfully until her health failed.
Marcia had a heart for people, especially her children and family. She was known for her outgoing personality. She was always full of love and laughter. She was a true servant who was always doing and caring for others despite her own health concerns. She kept a positive attitude and she never complained. Marcia was truly loved by her family and friends.
Marcia is preceded in death by her stepfather, Clarence Earl Hart, maternal grandparents, Manuel Obie Adams and Laura Mae Adams, one aunt, Linda Faye Hampton, three uncles, Manuel Adams, Jr, Herbert Bruce Adams, and Marvin Adams.
God saw Marcia was getting tired and on Sunday, October 9, 2022, He called her home to rest. She leaves to cherish her precious memories two sons, Trevor Willis and Devin Brown, a loving mother, Francis Adams, three sister, Nikia Hart, LaSonda McClerkin and, Trina Hart, two brothers, Corey Hart and Cameron McClerkin, and one grandson whom she loved dearly, Zayden Willis. Marcia also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Larry Brown.
