Mrs. Marge Tucker, 91, of Huntingdon passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at Harmony Hill Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 13, 2024 at Huntingdon First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Brother Jacob Harris will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00PM and on Wednesday at Huntingdon First Baptist Church from 9:00AM until time of services at 11:00AM.

Mrs. Marge Tucker was born July 10, 1933, in Madison County to the late Irene (Humphrey) and Jesse Towater. She attended high school at Trezevant High School in Carroll County and Draughons Business College in Nashville. She married her lifelong love, Ashburn Leon Tucker, in 1950. Marge lived a life dedicated to family, faith, and community.

Marge and Leon were married for 57 years before his passing and had 3 children together. Her family was her heart and her center. Well known in her community for her excellent homemade meals, Marge enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. To keep her loved ones close, every Sunday she prepared a special  meal for her family and guests that they happened to invite. No one ever left her home hungry, including pets.

Marge took every opportunity to share her faith. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Huntingdon for more than 50 years. There, she taught Bible Drill and Junior High Girls Sunday School, demonstrating a deep love for young people. Each person she touched held a special place in her heart and in her prayers. When called upon, Marge served the church in many capacities with a humble and joyful spirit.

In her community, Marge served on numerous boards and charitable organizations. With her husband, she owned and operated City Drug Company for many years, helping as a bookkeeper and community liaison. Marge was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, filling the office of Worthy Grand Matron, as well as other offices. She was often involved with youth activities in her community. She especially enjoyed sports and could be found on the back row of Paul Ward stadium or Huntingdon High School gymnasium on most game nights. Of course, she never missed an opportunity to wear orange and white at Neyland Stadium. Such was her love and service to her community, that many people remember her as a warm hug and a homemade treat.

Mrs. Tucker is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon Tucker; son Bob Tucker; and brothers, J.W. Towater and Roy Towater.

She leaves behind her cherished loved ones: sons, Tony (Charlotte) Tucker and Tim (Diane) Tucker of Huntingdon, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Tucker of Milan, Tennessee; grandchildren, April Coleman, Shannon Tucker, Jessica (Brad Beck) Tucker, Tyler Weatherford, Will (Mary Grace) Tucker, Matt Tucker and Jack Tucker; great-grandchildren, Kennede Coleman, Kelan Coleman, Thomas Tucker and Livi May Tucker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church, Huntingdon Legacy Fund or Gideons International.
