Mildred Herndon

Mrs. Mildred Herndon, 94, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Monday February 12, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Saturday February 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Johnny Drinkard Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM and on Saturday from 9:00AM until 11:00AM.

Mrs. Herndon was born June 7, 1929 to the late Noah Chester Smith and Ethel Mae Sooner. Preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Herndon; son Garland Teddy Wilbert Thomas Herndon; daughter Loretta Herndon; great-granddaughter Bianca LeAnn Conroy.

She is survived by eight daughters Martha Ann Lowe of Bruceton, Tennessee, Mae Margaret (Charles) Wilson of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Shirley Jane (Michael) Reed of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Delores Sue Green of Atwood, Tennessee, Mildred Kay Willis of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Patricia Carroll (Phillip) Hicks of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Nadine Herndon of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Tena Melissa (Robert Anthony) Hicks of Cedar Grove, Tennessee; one sister Mae Frances Spicer of Mossport, Mississippi; one brother Jimmy Smith of Lexington, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
