Robert Cursey

Mr. Robert Cursey, 80, of Jackson, Tennessee passed away Friday April 7, 2023, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00AM Tuesday April 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Liberty All Cemetery. Brother Kenneth Massey and Brother Steve Wilkinson officiating.

Mr. Cursey was born June 27, 1942, in Milan, Tennessee to the late John Bennett Cursey and Sara Maunette Presson Cursey. He was also preceded in death by a son Jeff Cursey and a brother Mike Cursey.

He was a member of Skyline Church of Christ; He received his B.S. from Bethel College and Master from University of Tennessee at Martin; Lifelong Educator for over 50 years and longtime Principal at Huntingdon High School in the early 70’s to mid 80’s.

Mr. Cursey is survived by his wife Linda Cursey; one daughter Sherri Greene of Jackson, Tennessee; one son Keith (Angie) Cursey of Martin, Tennessee; two step-daughters Wendy (David) Cook of Robertsdale, Alabama and Holly (Travis Williams) Lewis of Jackson, Tennessee; one sister Lisa (Dave) Wynn of Oakland, Tennessee;  one brother Tommy Cursey of Sardis, Mississippi; eight grandchildren Chase Cursey, Hayden Lewis, Logan Sorrels, Kyle Greene, Noah Greene, Katy Cursey, Anna Cursey and Hayes Lewis; one great-granddaughter Sawyer Cate Cursey.

Honoring him as Pallbearers will be Chase Cursey, Hayden Lewis, Logan Sorrels, Kyle Greene, Noah Greene, Scott Cursey and Hayes Lewis.

Honoring him as Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Greer, Bill Ezell, Mike Mansfield, Van Leach, Jimbo Webb, Steve Boggans, Terry Odle, Rick Catlett and Travis Williams.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and on Tuesday from 9:00AM until time of services at 11:00AM.
