Mr. Samuel Lee Dodd, 63, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee passed away Wednesday August 18, 2021 at Jackson Madison General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Wednesday August 25, 2021 at Abundant Life Family Worship Center. Interment will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Pastor Alan Baumgardner and Pastor Jerry Roach officiating.
The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM and on Wednesday at Abundant Life Family Worship Center from 12:00PM until time of services at 2:00PM.
Mr. Dodd was born October 1, 1957 to the late Eugene Dodd and Martha Hodge Douglas. He was a retired truck driver for WEL Company; member and Associate Pastor at Abundant Life Family Worship Center; preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Brandi Chace and step-brother Leonard Douglas.
He is survived by his loving wife Sheila Dodd; three daughters Shannon Dodd of Jackson, Tennessee, Ellen Bell of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Lindsey Bell of Cleveland, Tennessee; two sons Christopher (April) Chace of Cedar Grove, Tennessee and Eric Chace of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one sister Linda (Ed) Pickett of Huntingdon; one brother Gary (Dawn) Dodd of Petersburg, Illinois; six grandchildren LaSha Scott, Becca Dvorak, Hailey Bynum, Lexi Ownes, Alyssa Chace and Ansley Chace; two great-grandchildren Easton Bynum and Rylee Bynum; he was excited to be welcoming 1 grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren early 2022; his step-mother Velda Jones Dodd; four step-brothers: Bradly Hollis of Huntingdon, TN, William (Laurie) Hollis of Seneca, IL, Donald (Maria) Barrett of Wisconsin, and Mike Douglas of West Chicago, IL; his constant companion, his American Bully Samson.
Honoring Mr. Dodd as pallbearers Christopher Chace, Eric Chace, Dewey Kramer, Brian Kyle, Ronald Baumgardner, Bradly Hollis, Jonathan Dodd and Nickey Joe Dodd. Honorary pallbearers are James Dodd and Cliff Smith.
