Vonell Douglas Smith

Mrs. Vonell Douglas Smith, age 87, of Clarksburg, Tennessee passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00AM Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Sellers Hill Cemetery in Clarksburg, Tennessee.  Brother Phillip Halter & Brother Michael Butler officiating.

Mrs. Vonell was born February 17, 1932 to the late John Edwin & Ondean Prater Douglas in Henderson County, Tennessee.  She was a lifelong member of Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson Smith; sisters, Shirley Douglas Baker & Dorothy Douglas Halter; and brothers, Gaylon Daniel Douglas & John Edwin Douglas.

She is survived by her son, Cary Don (Judy) Smith of Clarksburg, Tennessee; brother, Sidney (Helen) Douglas of Huntsville, Alabama; granddaughter, Tina Smith Davis of Huntingdon, Tennessee; step-granddaughters, Jennifer Todd Carroll of Gadsden, Tennessee & Julie Anne Todd of Knoxville, Tennessee; and two step-great-grandsons, Grant Ethan Carroll & Austin Todd Carroll of Gadsden, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and on Monday from 8:00AM until time of funeral at 11:00AM.

Pallbearers include Michael Smith, Randy Baker, Chris Baker, Glenn Halter, Phillip Halter, & Danny Halter.
