Mr. King was born November 4, 1943 to the late Nevil Smothers and Beulah Rink Smothers. Preceded in death by two sons Johnny king and Jeremy King; great-grandson Nick Melton; two brothers James King and Mike King.
A proud retiree of Procter & Gamble, Dad was known not only for his dedication to his work but for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around him. His laughter, quick one-liners, and storytelling were unmatched- a true family favorite, just like his nickname, “King Fish.”
He was an avid supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers and loved nothing more than cheering on his team in orange, especially when he could do so alongside his family. He also had a lifelong love for baseball, and the Saint Louis Cardinals held a special place in his heart.
Dad’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
He is survived by one daughter Deborah King (Dave) of Medina, Tennessee; one son Jeffery King (Cindy) of Huntingdon, Tennessee; one precious sister Carolyn Camper of Lexington, Tennessee; two half sisters Connie Tate and Teresa Jordan of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren Julia King, Destinee Melton and Grace Taylor; five great-grandchildren Clay Melton, Chance Redmon, Caylee Melton, Cailyn Melton and Ayden Melton.
